The Dialer settings dialog box is designed to select and customize a device that will be used to dial a phone number.
Appearance:
Use this dialog box to select one of two ways of accessing a modem:
- Access via COM port
- Access via TAPI
Access via serial (COM) port

Detect modems...

Allows you to automatically detect available modems and set the number of COM port.

Port
|
Allows you to set COM port number manually.
|
|
Dial method
|
Allows you to select a dial method/type: tone or pulse.
|
|
Turn on sound
|
Allows you to turn on/off the dialing sound via modem speaker.
|
Access via TAPI-compatible device
|
Device
|
If there are TAPI-compatible devices in your system, the Device dropdown list will display all available devices of this kind. Select a device that will be used for dialing a phone number.

Forced pulse dialing
|
If this option is enabled, the modem is forced to switch to pulse dialing (for old phone systems).
|
Checking the Local area call prefix option enables you to specify a sequence of characters to be used to access a local area telephone network. Here you can use digits, pause symbols (p) and tone waiting (w). To enter pauses and long tone waiting symbols, use corresponding buttons.
